Mobile and crawler cranes

Focus on Safety

After being manufactured, equipment is on test at the LIEBHERR factory in Germany. Liebherr adopts the highest safety standard for mobile and crawler crane design, which is especially applied to structure values. Developers apply the safety factor over 1.5 times to the calculation of the structural integrity of all single cranes.

It is required to conduct a factory self-test with all cranes in all manufacturing processes, and to pass intensive and continuous tests and inspect the entire equipment in construction sites. The test load in the crane acceptance procedure in a test site is about 25% higher than the standard load capacity.

Load Test Flowchart

  • Weight loading work

    • Verification of the allowable capacity of lifting frame
    • Loading after weighting is complete
    • Inspection of an error value of load test weight
  • Weight hanging work

    • Verification of the allowable capacity of wire and shackle
    • Use approval of tools marked with KS
    • Inspection of wire damage and abrasion
  • Verification of operating radius

    • Verification and approval of work plan
    • TBM before work
    • Verification of actual lifting radius and testing radius
  • Measurement of weight error

    • Wait after lifting for five minutes of weight
    • Measurement of the error range of actual weight and monitor
    • Testing if an error range is below ±10.

    • Verification of load cell normality after weight lifting
    • Measurement indicator weight error range
    • Simulation of actual lifting radius
  • Verification of load state

    • Verification as to whether system works normally
    • Verification as to whether various safety devices and cameras work well
    • Verification of the states of various sensors, wind gauge, and winch

  • Verification of the ground state, and inspection of ground inclination, mat state, and bearing force
  • Inspection as to whether safety control and system devices, like wind gauge and limiter, work well

CHECK SAFETY

  • Inspection as to whether safety devices (monitor 3ea, cylinder sensors, emergency stop button, overload warning device, limiter, wind gauge, etc.) work well
  • Inspection as to whether automatic control devices (camera monitor, camera system (winch), joystick, boom angle sensor, load indictor, load cell, etc.) work well
